ENGLISH VERSION AT THE BOTTOM :)) 3 nedēļas.
>3765km nobraukti mašīnās.
>250km nostaigāti ar 15kg mugursomu.
Pārtika – garšīga. Tev jānāk ar mani pārgājienos!
Apmēram 30 nostopētas mašīnas.
Verdonas kanjons. Draugi no Latvijas.
Šveicē satiekas Norvēģijas studiju Erasmus draugi no Vācijas, Somijas, Luksemburgas un, protams, pašas Šveices!
Iekaroti alpi, slavenā Kambry cepumu fabrika, mežcirtēja mājas, lielākās Francijas piekrastes pilsētas, mazie ciematiņi, Couchserfinga dīvāni, virsotnes un ielejas. Wow wow wow...
Pavisam normāli, it kā nekas īpašs.
Man paveicās, man tikai sasāpējās mugura un nespēju pastaigāt.

EUROPEAN GREATEST CANYON & ALPS IN SWITZERLAND (>4000KM)
19 of December - 9 of January. 3 weeks. >3765km hitchhiked. >250km walked with 15kg backpack. Food - tasty. You should come with me on hikings! Approximately 30 nice drivers. The Verdons canyon. In Switzerland is Norway Erasmus reunion. Friends from Germany, Finnland, Luxemburg and ofcourse Switzerland. The Victory over the Alps, famous Kambry cookies factory, lumberjack home, the biggest France seaside ities, small villages, sofa of couchserfing, summits and valleys. wow wow wow...It could not even be described. At least I will try to sketch. We use to have a dreams. Some of them are very new, but some of them from our childhood. When I was a small boy I was watching Jules Gabriel Vernmovie "80 Days Around the World" (1956). Incredible and surprising stories, events, far and unreachable places seem like always have been and always will be worth for admiring. Grand events seemingly unreachable things, phenomena and other sweet spots. mmm....
Start of hitchhiking. Everything went normal course. The first day aim was to get closer to Nice for at least 250 km, the next also 250km and so on. Every day was new city. Toulouse, Montpellier, Nice, Castellane or small Rougon- all of these cities are like a dessert. Even in Marseille when it was no so nice to walk small roads in old city in evening has its own charm. If I would new the summum journey distance maybe I would be more scared than I was.
A tent, clothes, kitchen tools, food, first aid kit and another 100 different things are prepared. Quite normal, nothing special. At least it is quite normal when you're already in the process. But when I came back I got a comments: "Janis you're completely crazy and I think I could not do this" There is a single answer "We got what we are ready for." If you do not have your own business, you are still not ready for it. If you do not have a wife, you aren`t a party King or at work you cannot get better job, then all you can answer - you're not ready for this. Start improving step by step. Start!
Adventure came slowly. Over time I red a lot of things about travelings, I spoke with people, I was interested in, but still only on fourth day I discovered I`m in the dream which I once dreamed. All this could happen much faster if it would be a priority for me, but apparently did not have. So I still was not ready. The best in the trip was people interaction. When outdoors is a fabulous sunset and you go on the road alone, of course, it is nice, but there is something missing. It is sense of unfulfiled. When the bus drove around the city and you are looking around and see an amazing sights, it is nice, but still it is not fulfilness of joy. But when you jump in the car where you don`t know a driver and share your stories. This is great. When you meet up a person on the street and go to drink a glass of juice in the beer pub, it`s amazing. When hiking friends and sharing emotions. Damn... its good! And that stays in ours memories.
So much photos, so many stories, so many thanks to people which I met, so much pleasant moments, so difficult to describe it. Nowadays we can get so many experiences in so short period of time...How many people we see only once. How much experiences we can overtake and learn from the others mistakes... At least in theory.
Going on this kind a adventure, need tokeep in mind that it can end differently. Perhaps there will be situations when won`t be anyone around who could help in critical moment. Just like as a crazy ocean paddlers BoredOfBorders. If you are on a cliffs edge in the middle ofnight because you will sleep there, extra safety, extra step won`t be to much.It better to go slower in the clifs above rapid mountain rives. It may be that pain in knee at bad situation timing which would lead to deadly maneuvers, perhaps could be got a bite from snake or attack on the street. You never know. I was lucky, I was only unable to walk because of my back. But still I was able to call 112. No, no. Everything was in okey, I just could not walk. Actually, it was rather comical than painful. Of course, maybe not for my friends who were with me. And it was funny when hostipal girls asked me to leave a hospital but I could not walk. What can you do?! You can laugh! :D But next day it was ok. And the next day 'pleasure' with stomach ... uhh! ... While traveling body adapts. Now I am wondering about myself because it was so much luck. I think I have spent all my lifetimes luck in 3 weeks :D But it was cool. Would I prefer to go again? Hmm ... not yet. But it reminds "Strongman Races". Its cold, its freaking cold. You don`t want to do it anymore at that moment. Never! But then comes next year and everything changes! Let`s go to Stronman Races! :D I was sick after this trip for 2 weeks. My immune system was really injured. Verdon canyon is impressive. Surrounded by mountains, rocks, and the ice-cold river. It was funny how friends with his hurtinf knee was carying other friend on the sholders over the fast sreaming river. It was cool to see vultures so close. Climbing to rocks with a 15 kg backpack, holding on to ropes and the legs a little shaky. It was such a great adventure. And the best It was shared with friends.
Because of hospital. I had a doubt whether it would be smart to go to Switzerland. Of course not, but... but I realy wanted to! There will be my friends from Erasmus in Norway! So it only took 2 days and more than 650km to reach Zurich. Along the way I took a look at Mont Blanc. Wow, Wow, Wow... There would be so cool to climb! Also this driving to Zurich was with some adventures. Entering Geneva. Big city. It's late. Its cold. Hmm ... where to stay? To get out of the city it would probably be 3 hours walking and then there will not be outside. Switzerland does not have rural and urban. Switzerland countryside enters the city and town eneters in the countryside. After a few hours will be the New Year and I was lucky because some intelligent young Greek took me on couchserfing. New Year celebritions was on the conversations with politis and coocing a delicious dinner.
I was surprised by nice drivers who took me in their cars. Some of them were really worried about me when I said I will sleep in a tent at night when the outside is soft winter. Until -10°C it is soft! The difficult part is to pop up the tent, because the fingers are freezing, but in the tent at night are pretty warm :)) Before reaching the meeting place where are Norwegian Erasmus students I had to spend a night in the mountains. The last machine let me out 10km before the destination and I had to cross the mountain during the night. Luckily in the forest was made some shed with Jesus in the feed bunk, Adam, Ieva, sheeps. I thank a Good and did a 3 hours nap under the shelter :)) Switzerland is a very interesting place. If you ever are complaining about work amount than took experience from Swiss. They seems to be workalcholists - rise before the morning roosters and go to sleep only when they have finished and planned all next day. It was very interesting experience in lumberjacks home - inspiring man! We were learning a different way how to sharpen a chainsaw. We were introduced with his work. He even took a free day just to welcome us. wow! If you think it is hard to work in the forest, try to work in Switzerland! It`s even hard to climb up in the slope!
The Alps are amazing! It is located in the fairy kingdom. Snow. Cold. Coolness. Tobogganing. All this time has been so saturated that hard to describe.
But now one thing is clear - if the trip would not bein connection with the local people, it may be travel by Google Maps as well! Finally I felt like this is to get out of the box. The main value of the trip was sharing time with people, watching how the surroundings are beautiful! The world is smaller than it seemed to be and way more magnificent than I could realized. Let`s go for next trip together!
